Each year the Commission awards a number of merit-based scholarships to Moroccan nationals for graduate studies in the U.S. leading to Master's or Ph.D. degrees. Scholarships generally cover expenses including tuition, books, round-trip fare and living stipend. Graduate study grants are offered in all fields except medicine, pharmacy and dentistry. In addition to a TOEFL score of at least 550, candidates are required to submit scores of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or of the GMAT exam for MBA and Finance applicants.
Candidates must also have excellent academic records and recommendations as well as intellectually compelling reasons for wishing to pursue their studies at an American university. Financial need is not a criterion for selection. Completed applications, including required test scores, must be submitted by mid-May for scholarships beginning approximately fifteen months later.
(Deadline for applications for studies in any given academic year is mid-May of the previous academic year (e.g. for studies beginning in August 2009, the application must be submitted by May 2008) Candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree ("licence") or equivalent at the time of selection in June. Preference is given to applicants who have not previously studied or lived in the USA for an extended period.
MBA applicants must have had at least one year of relevant professional experience at the time of submitting their applications. No grants are given for undergraduate study.
