GENERAL DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS

Applicants must be Moroccan citizens currently residing in Morocco. Applications from US-Moroccan dual nationals will not be considered. Preference is given to applicants who have not previously studied or lived in the USA for an extended period. All grantees are obliged by the terms of grant to return to Morocco for a minimum residence of two years. Grants are awarded on a highly competitive basis with particular stress placed on academic and/or professional excellence as exemplified in the candidate's records, letters of recommendation and written statement of purpose or research proposal.

For most grants, applicants must provide evidence of adequate mastery of the English language by a recent TOEFL score of at least 213 on the computer-based-test (550 on the paper-based test with a score no more than 2 years old). For graduate study grants, GRE/GMAT scores are also required. For more information contact Amideast in 35 Rue Oukaimeden, Agdal, Rabat (call [037] 675082, or email amideast@mtds.com.)

In addition to traditional academic fields, the Commission encourages applications from candidates in newer areas of research and study in the sciences and professional fields such as --but not limited to--investment finance, commercial law, natural resource management, business administration, and information systems technology. Applications from women are especially welcome. No grants are given for undergraduate study.

For more information on all grants contact MACECE. Additional information on Fulbright grants is also available from AMIDEAST and for Moroccan post-doc professors/researchers from CIES.
