Senior Scholar Lecturing Grants
American scholars with the necessary language competence may apply for Fulbright grants to teach at one or more Moroccan institutions of higher education, at undergraduate and/or graduate levels. At Moroccan state universities and institutes, French is necessary for scientific and technical fields while Arabic is generally needed to lecture in the humanities except in departments of English language and literature. You can check the Ministry of Higher Education website for detailed listing of institutions and faculties.
The main exception to this rule is the American-style Al-Akhawayn University in Ifrane, where all courses in the fields of applied humanities, social sciences, computer science and business are taught in English. It is often possible for American scholars to carry out research in conjunction with lecturing awards. The applicants who wish to both teach and conduct research need to submit a teaching proposal and a research plan. Most grants cover periods varying between two months and a full academic year.
Interested persons with school-age dependents should be aware that no education allowance is available.
For further details and application forms, interested persons are invited to check the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars (CIES).
Application deadline is: August 3, 2015.
