WHO WE ARE

MACECE is an autonomous, binational organization based in Rabat that seeks to further mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of Morocco and of the United States by promoting academic and cultural exchanges. To this end, and within the context of the Fulbright Educational Exchange Program, the Commission awards merit-based grants to graduate students, university professors, research scholars and secondary school teachers from each country to enable them to study, carry out research, or teach in the other country.

More than 900 Moroccans and over 550 Americans have already benefited from these grants. (See breakdown according to grant type and nationality in the table below).

The range of disciplines that have benefited from Commission grants encompasses both traditional academic fields in the arts and humanities and newer areas of research and study in the sciences and professional fields.

A majority of the American grantees have been and continue to be chosen from the Humanities and Social Sciences. Moroccan grantees are being selected increasingly from the fields of Applied Sciences, Business, Finance, and Law.
